“You make a difference through how you act and how you treat patients.”

~ Dr. Polke

Dr. David Polke is a man on a mission—making a true difference in the lives of his patients.

“My patients come first,” says the physician who sometimes logs 12-hour days in the office providing highly compassionate care, and sometimes sees stretches that have him delivering 12 babies within a couple of days.

“And I still love it,” says Dr. Polke, who has three decades of experience as a physician. Helping different patients in different ways every day as an OB/GYN makes his practice not like work at all, he says.

“It means so much to patients,” Dr. Polke says of truly being present, listening, caring, and responding. As a testament to how well he does that, the walls of exam rooms are filled with awards honoring him as a compassionate and caring physician.

Always in the back of his mind as inspiration to exceed expectations, whether delivering a baby or consulting in the office, is the awareness that for patients, “It’s the most important day in their lives.”

Dr. Polke initially wanted to be an orthopaedic surgeon, and then a general surgeon. “I did this and I fell in love with it,” he says of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which meant changing his direction entirely in his fourth year of medical school.

Outside the office, Dr. Polke loves to hunt and fish with his four grown children, two boys and two girls. He’s an avid outdoorsman who has traveled the world in search of adventure, including the North Pole, Australia, Russia, and Africa with his wife and four children.
